PLYMOUTH

10-11.2024

A post-war city that never fully healed, Plymouth yearns to be something more.

Whilst London stands proud as an coming-together of ideologies and nationalities, with its centuries-old buildings and artsy inclusion of new-age high-rises, Plymouth feels like a palimpsest that never had a true end-goal.

Plymouth’s high rises stand isolated and spaced out in a way that feels like something is missing, though you’re not quite sure what.

Perhaps it is a lack of vision, or perhaps it is the under-utilisation of its frameworks as a city, there is no dialogue to be had with the way it comes together.

London wears its differences like a coat.

Plymouth is bearing a wound, rebuilt with a withering ambition.
